I said in an earlier post that December is my reflection month. I look at what I set out to achieve in the year and what I have actually done. Today, as the year and the month is ending, I would like to outline just 10 of some my personal academic and professional highlights for 2024.
? I was in my 2nd year as Executive Dean of the amazing Bingu School of Culture and Heritage which saw impactful milestones which have already been documented in the post of 24 December 2024
?I taught linguistics modules in the Bachelor of Arts in Language, Communication and Culture at the Malawi University of Science and Technology
?I taught the Science Communication module to the students in the following postgraduate programmes: MSC in Biodiversity Informatics, One Health and Disaster Risk Management.
?I was external examiner for two postgraduate dissertations (PhD and MA) and I am supervising a PhD student, an MA student and 2 undergraduate students
?I published a book chapter in the book titled Morphosyntactic Variation in Bantu published by O?I was external examiner for two postgraduate dissertations (PhD and MA) and I am supervising a PhD student, an MA student and 2 undergraduate students
?I published a book chapter in the book titled Morphosyntactic Variation in Bantu published by Oxford University Press, submitted three papers for consideration of publication in local and international journals and is leading and/or co-leading three research projects
?I presented four academic papers at international conferences and seminars
?I represented MUST’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Address Malata at the 11th World Women University President’s forum, Zhengzhou, China
?I was in a team that had an audience with the President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera to discuss Malawi’s Creative and Cultural Industry
?I delivered 7 motivational talks locally and internationally on self advancement and leadership
?I was appointed into four local and international boards
