On December 17th, I had the opportunity to attend a workshop under the Transforming Higher Education Systems (THES) project, funded by USAID, hosted at Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) as part of MUST’s 3.1 Grand Challenge focused on innovations. The workshop brought together participants from sister universities such as UNIMA, LUANAR, and MAGU, along with innovators from across the country and industry partners.
As the Change Champion for this Grand Challenge, I’m pleased to share that the workshop concentrated on these main areas:
- Innovation Ecosystem
- Support Structures
- Policies for Managing and Supporting Innovations
- Ethics and Innovation
I’m incredibly proud of the G.C 3.1 team—Zalerapi Chirwa, Mr. Rodney Maganga, and Dr. Francis Masiye for organizing such a successful event. A special thanks to Outcome Lead Dr. Zandivuta Kankhuni for attending and supporting the workshop. The participants played a pivotal role in the discussions on innovations, and it’s clear that together, we can transform innovation systems within higher education.
